Your New Job You work to promote health, prevent problems, and implement interventions based on your profession's defined assignment. Through interdisciplinary collaboration in the student health team (EHT), we support students' development toward educational goals and contribute to creating accessible learning environments. Primary school education must be equitable, meaning that instruction must be adapted to each student's conditions and needs and based on the student's background, previous experiences, language, and knowledge to promote continued learning. This is a large and jointly challenging task that you, as a special education teacher, will take on with great commitment. Equity also means that instruction cannot be designed the same for everyone. The special education teacher and colleagues in the special team support primary teachers in adapting instruction to individual students' needs and abilities. This can be done in the classroom, in small groups, or individually. Kålgårdsskolan also has a dedicated language educator who is an important part of the teaching puzzle. As a special education teacher at Kålgårdsskolan, you are part of the student health team consisting of a principal, assistant principal, special education teacher, counselor, and school nurse, as well as often a school psychologist. Your work includes close collaboration with the school's educators regarding individual students in need of special support. You guide and support teachers in conducting pedagogical assessments, making accommodations, and developing intervention plans. You conduct various types of tests and assessments that you, together with the EHT and educators, use as a basis and analyze to find the best conditions for each student and for instruction in the grade levels. Therefore, the special education teacher naturally participates in the school improvement group. An important part of the special education teacher's work is also maintaining close contact with guardians. The special education teacher independently leads necessary meetings included in the assignment, such as collaborating with external partners and coordinating transitions for students in need of support. Student documentation in student records, participation in professional networks, and staying current with research are other important aspects of the work. Welcome to Us Kålgårdsskolan is an F-6 school with 175 students and 40 dedicated staff members. The school is centrally located in Jönköping with proximity to beautiful nature including parks and lakes. We have Upptech with all its possibilities right at hand, and the city library is a short walk away. Communication options are excellent. We are organized into grade-level teams but also work closely together in grades F-3 and 4-6. There is an after-school program with two departments: Epsilon and Galaxen, which will develop their competence during the year and continue outdoor pedagogy. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with a teaching license for primary school and a special education teacher certification.
