Hedlundaskolan is a preschool through grade 6 school located centrally in Umeå near the river, Hedlundadungen, and the Nolia area. The school has approximately 190 students in total, and everyone knows each other here. Hedlunda's educators have high digital competence and work on language and knowledge development across all subjects in the school. Hedlundaskolan is undergoing significant development as the school is being renovated and expanded to eventually accommodate twice as many students as it originally did when completed. The school often works with projects linked to the Young Enterprise initiative and the municipality's sustainable development project. Within sustainable development, the school focuses on cultivation both in raised beds and greenhouses. Your responsibilities In the role of special education teacher, you contribute specialized expertise to support the daily pedagogical work and overall planning of student welfare efforts. You work preventively and health-promoting in close collaboration with the principal and other staff, with a focus on creating accessible learning environments and increasing student achievement. You will, among other things: - In collaboration with teacher colleagues, write assessments and intervention plans. - Work to ensure that the school's general learning environment continues to develop, for example through making instructional materials and digital tools accessible. - Work with students who need additional support in the classrooms. About you We are looking for someone who is well familiar with the school's governing documents and has the ability to individualize and vary your role based on student needs. You have the ability to build good relationships with students and colleagues and have a willingness to work in a learning organization. Furthermore, you are patient, attentive, and communicative. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements - Certified special education teacher. - Experience working with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). - Practical experience adapting learning environments for students with ADHD, autism, or language disorders. - Experience developing the school's general learning environment, such as making instructional materials or digital tools accessible. - Experience writing pedagogical assessments and developing intervention plans together with colleagues. - Good knowledge of Swedish language in speech and writing, as well as basic knowledge of English. - Valid excerpt from the criminal record, as required by the aptitude check regulation. Meritorious - Certified teacher for primary or intermediate grades. - Experience with difficult and complex conversations with guardians aimed at building trust. - Experience working with student welfare teams, where you have been a member of or worked closely with. - Experience leading pedagogical discussions, workshops, or coaching colleagues on accommodations.
