About Amerikanska Gymnasiet, Stockholm - Campus Frescati Hage By Brunnsviken in the beautiful Norra Djurgårdsstaden, we opened a upper secondary school in fall 2023. The school is entering its fourth academic year and has approximately 500 students studying in the Natural Sciences, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a skilled teaching team with a strong sense of community. About the Position As a Special Education Teacher, you will work as part of the school's student support team and be an important part of our preventive and developmental work. You will also work operatively to support teachers in teaching situations, where classroom visits are an important part of daily work. You ensure that students receive the right support and that teachers have the right knowledge to structure instruction so it is accessible to all students. You also work closely with school leadership and serve as an extension to ensure that teachers and students have the right conditions to succeed. Together with school leadership, you are responsible for planning and driving support work at the individual, group, and organizational levels, as well as for students in need of specialized support. In collaboration with teachers and guardians, you provide support in adapting studies for students. You develop intervention plans and conduct assessments, such as pedagogical evaluations, as needed. You are also a resource to principals in school development matters and actively participate in the school's development work. You will support students with structure, planning, and study techniques. We expect you to have good familiarity with compensatory tools and competence in digital learning tools. Over time, the position may also include coordinating responsibilities. This is a permanent full-time position (100%), beginning with a 6-month probationary period. Start date August 3 or by agreement. Your Profile We are looking for you who are trained as a Special Education Teacher or Special Education Specialist with a degree, and preferably also with a teaching certification. Previous experience in the field is required. It is also a merit if you have worked with upper secondary school students. You have experience developing intervention plans and conducting pedagogical assessments, and strong knowledge of and experience working with students with reading and writing difficulties. You also have knowledge of and experience with language development teaching methods. You have a professional approach in interactions with students, colleagues, and guardians, and good insight into people's different circumstances. You are naturally collaborative and good at creating positive working relationships with a coaching and mentoring approach. As a person, you are solution-oriented. You see possibilities and always lead challenges and problems toward solutions. You have a thoroughly positive attitude.
