The Roma school district is centrally located on Gotland with convenient commuting distance to Visby and excellent bus connections. The school district comprises Roma School, a grades F–9 school, and grades F–6 schools in Vänge, Kräklingbo, Dalhem, and Endre.
Collaboration between schools is a strength in our operations. Students from the outlying schools in the district are bussed to Roma School to varying degrees for instruction in multiple subjects, which creates good continuity, safe transitions between grade levels, and opportunities for subject-specific and collegial collaboration.
Your Responsibilities
As a special education teacher, you work preventively and supportively at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You assess, investigate, and document students' needs for special support, and you plan and implement support measures in collaboration with teaching staff.
In this role, you provide qualified guidance to teachers, mentors, and work teams regarding adaptations, special support, and accessible learning environments, with a focus on promoting and preventive work. You contribute through guidance and collegial learning to the school's systematic quality and development work.
You actively participate in the student welfare team's work and collaborate closely with the principal, educators, guardians, and other professionals within student welfare. Together with three other special education teachers in the Roma school district, you share responsibility for developing special education support within the district.
You will also be part of Region Gotland's network for special education teachers and specialists, which provides opportunities for experience sharing and professional development.
Who Are You?
We are now seeking a certified special education teacher or specialist to our school district. A B-level driver's license and access to your own vehicle are requirements for the position, as it involves working at multiple schools. Experience is a merit. You will work with students in grades F–6.

You have a genuine interest in giving every student the opportunity to reach their full potential. We seek an engaged and flexible person who actively works to make school accessible to all students. You have good collaboration skills and can build strong relationships, as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.
You create a good learning environment and are a qualified conversation partner for students, guardians, and colleagues. You enjoy working in a team while also being able to plan and work independently.
