Your Tasks We are seeking a certified special education teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development. As a special education teacher, we see you as an important link in our school development and systematic quality work alongside the principal. The special education teacher role involves working together with the teaching team's educators to work preventatively and goal-oriented to create good teaching and learning environments based on our governing documents with special focus on language, writing, and reading development. This special education support can primarily be provided by reviewing (mapping) the student's/class's/school's entire learning situation and proposing and working with measures that benefit the student's/class's development and learning. This can happen mainly through intensive training in students' language, writing, and reading development, but also through guidance to teachers and work/teaching teams. As a special education teacher, you are a key person in the unit's work for additional support. You have an important role in the school's student health team where work takes place in close collaboration with the principal, special education coordinator, educators, school nurse, counselor, and in other forums together with external and internal contacts. Your main responsibilities are: - To work together with other teachers in the team in a goal-oriented manner to create a good teaching and learning environment - To mentor teachers by supporting teaching teams and individual educators in mapping around students in need of additional support in language, writing, and reading development at the organizational, group, or individual level. - To develop support measures and be a qualified discussion partner and advisor on pedagogical issues related to reading and writing development for the principal, colleagues, guardians, and other concerned parties. Your Qualifications You are a certified special education teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development and have teaching credentials for grades 1-3. We see that you have good subject knowledge in Swedish but also preferably in mathematics. Your ability to create good, trusting relationships with both students, staff, and guardians is essential for the role. You have the ability to lead both student groups and colleagues to develop teaching and can motivate and create situations that contribute to meaningful learning. You design activities and situations that promote and develop students' motivation, persistence, and attention. You have the ability to see and meet each student, start from what works, and offer broad guidance and stimulation in teaching. Collaborative learning, results analysis, and mentoring teachers are an integral part of your work. You reflect on and analyze work methods and models to develop teaching at our school. You see the teaching team as an asset and problem-solving is part of your daily work. You are communicative, creative, and open to thinking new and trying new ways of working together with others.
