We are now seeking an engaged and knowledgeable special education teacher for our special education team at Hanahöj and Hånger Schools – we warmly welcome your application! Hanahöj School is an F-6 school with approximately 170 students located in Forsheda about 1.5 miles west of Värnamo. Hånger School is a smaller school with approximately 60 students located about 1.5 miles south of Värnamo. Job Responsibilities You will be part of our special education team, which also includes a special education specialist, special education teacher, and Swedish as a second language teacher. Together with classroom teachers, students, and guardians, you will create good conditions for learning through support measures, adaptations, and positive relationships. The role includes teaching and support for students in grades F–3 and also 4–6, with a special focus on early literacy development and some mathematics. You will work with individually adapted interventions both in the classroom and in smaller groups, and contribute to the development of the school's accessible learning environments for F–3 and 4–6. Work tasks also include documentation in Prorenata, work with screenings and intervention plans, as well as some mentoring of colleagues and work teams. You will work closely with the student support team (EHT). The position is initially based at Hanahöj School, but work tasks at Hånger School will be included over time. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is a certified special education teacher in Swedish, preferably with a focus on language and reading development, and holds a teaching license for elementary school. You have experience in special education and good digital skills. Knowledge of dyslexia and NPF is a merit. As a person, you are independent, curious, and relationship-building, while also being structured and confident in creating clear frameworks for student learning. You want to contribute to a stimulating learning environment where each student has the opportunity to develop, and you have an easy time collaborating with colleagues for the benefit of students.
