JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a special education teacher, you work to support student learning and development based on the school's objectives, guidelines, and applicable curriculum documents. You have good knowledge of the current curriculum and are responsible for the pedagogical content of instruction. Through a supportive and inclusive approach, you help create conditions for each student to develop as far as possible according to their abilities. We are now seeking a special education teacher specializing in Swedish for grades 4–9. We're looking for someone who inspires and engages, who dares to think differently, and who wants to work with colleagues to create a school where all students feel included and have the opportunity to succeed. The role includes working with students in need of special support, participating in pedagogical assessments, and establishing, implementing, and monitoring intervention programs and other support measures. You will also work to develop instruction at the individual, group, and organizational levels. An important part of the role is collaboration with guardians, student welfare professionals, and external partners to create the best possible conditions for student learning and well-being. QUALIFICATIONS We're looking for someone who is a certified teacher in Swedish with interest and competence in special education, or a Swedish teacher with good knowledge of special education, preferably with a special education certification in language, writing, and reading development. You have good knowledge of school curriculum documents and a well-developed ability to implement these in daily work. With a special education perspective and clear pedagogy, you create conditions for all students' learning and development. You have both the competence and commitment to adapt instruction to students' varying needs and abilities. As a person, you are clear, responsible, and committed to your role. Through confident, calm, and conscious leadership, you build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You meet each student with high expectations and have the ability to inspire, motivate, and strengthen students' confidence in their own abilities. At the same time, you promote curiosity, responsibility, and a desire to learn. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating and actively contributes to the school's development work. With focus on both safety and academic development, you see the value of working with colleagues to create an accessible, inclusive, and successful learning environment for all students.
