Specialist Nursing Assistant at a Service Home in Social Psychiatry Do you want to use your specialist expertise both working directly with people and developing the services around them? We are now looking for a specialist nursing assistant for our social psychiatry services. Here you'll combine daily support and care with expanded responsibility for quality, supervision, and development. YOUR ROLE As a specialist nursing assistant, you work to meet, support, and help people with mental health and intellectual disabilities based on their wishes and needs. Support is based on implementation plans and clear pedagogical methods and takes place in collaboration with colleagues, relatives, and other professionals. In addition to your team's shared responsibilities, you contribute your specialized expertise and work systematically to ensure quality and develop services from both individual and group perspectives. The target group has varying needs, and the work can include both psychiatric support and care. Your specialist expertise becomes particularly valuable when needs change, when a situation is complex, or when the team needs to find new ways to create security and a functioning daily life. Together with the team, you reflect on professional ethical approaches and methods to develop work practices. The role also includes supervising colleagues within your specialist area as well as supporting, inspiring, and coaching colleagues in daily work and in the role of contact person. You also actively contribute to the service's quality and improvement work. In parallel, we are also recruiting three support assistants and one support educator. This means that several new colleagues with different skills will join at the same time and become part of the ongoing development of Anderstorg 16. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts. YOUR EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE The role requires specialist nursing assistant training of 200 vocational credits with relevant focus on psychiatry, cognitive diseases, elderly care and support, dementia, or elderly psychiatry, or alternatively completed Silviasyntra training. You also need to meet the requirements for using the nursing assistant professional title and be able to verify this. Experience working with people with physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities as well as people with mental health challenges is also required. To manage the assignment, you need sufficiently good Swedish language skills to communicate, receive information, and document, as well as physical capabilities for the work tasks. It is advantageous to have experience in care and support services and in individualized care work. Experience with pedagogical methods, clear working approaches, and low-arousal interaction is also valuable. Since part of the specialist role involves supporting others, we would appreciate experience in supervising or training students, interns, new employees, or colleagues. Skellefteå Municipality is part of Finnish and Sámi administrative areas. Language skills in Finnish and Sámi as well as cultural competence in these areas are therefore advantageous. For us, your personal competencies are at least as important as your education and experience. The role requires you to be organized and able to contribute to clear procedures, coordinate care measures, and follow up on working methods, while ensuring support is adapted to the individual's current needs. Your creative ability is needed when existing approaches don't produce the desired results and you, together with the team, need to find new solutions. In collaboration, you are cooperative and share your specialist expertise, coach colleagues, and contribute to shared working methods. At the same time, you are open to others' knowledge and experiences. For this role, you are required by law to present a current police certificate from the Swedish Police Authority before potential employment. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE Anderstorg 16 is a small service home with 24-hour staffing. We offer daily support to people with mental health and neuropsychiatric disabilities as well as mild intellectual disabilities. Residents live in their own apartments and have access to a common area near their apartment. The target group is diverse, making each day varied. For one person, support might involve creating structure, motivation, and participation, while another needs more practical support and care. The common goal is for each person to receive the support they need to live as independently as possible. The work team is growing and new expertise is being added. As a specialist nursing assistant, you'll have the opportunity to contribute your specialized expertise in care and help develop procedures and working methods based on residents' needs. At the same time, you become part of a team where different experiences and knowledge complement each other and where the work group has the opportunity to participate in their own schedule planning.
