Duties As a specialist dentist with us, you will provide care within the full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery and take responsibility for the clinic's inpatient patients. A large part of the work involves collaborating with other specialties within dental and healthcare at, for example, care conferences, therapy meetings, and rounds. About the Workplace The Specialist Dental Care Clinic is part of the health and medical care administration in Region Västmanland and is located at Västmanlands Hospital in Västerås. We are approximately one hour's travel from Uppsala, Stockholm, and Örebro with good commuting options. The clinic consists of our three units: oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, and oral rehabilitation. We provide specialist dental care encompassing all dental specialties and treat patients of all ages. The clinic has a total of approximately 80 employees. This position is placed in the oral and maxillofacial surgery unit. You will join a multiprofessional team consisting of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, ST-dentists, merit dentists, dental hygienists, dental nurses, and medical secretaries. The unit also has specialists in oral radiology and orofacial medicine. We conduct specialist training and research, and have close collaboration with other dental and medical specialties. Qualifications We are looking for a licensed dentist with specialist training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. If you are an ST-dentist nearing the end of your specialist training, you are also welcome to apply. We will then gather documentation from your training supervisor regarding your examination date. It is advantageous if you have previously conducted research and worked at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic affiliated with a hospital. Since the role involves patient records and communication with patients, relatives, and colleagues, we see that you have good skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You are a stable and reliable person. Since work in various ways can change quickly, we see that you have the ability to be flexible while maintaining your composure and focus in stressful situations. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your work tasks. Since a large part of the work involves working in teams and in close contact with both patients and relatives, you need to be a team player with a service-oriented mindset.
