Work Tasks As a specialist physician/senior physician in Clinical Chemistry with us, you are welcomed to an operation with stable staffing and good collaboration both internally within the physician group and process team, as well as externally with representatives from the clinical operations. You are expected to contribute to the continuous work of maintaining the highest quality of diagnostic operations and to develop it further in collaboration with the clinical operations. The work tasks mainly encompass medical methodology responsibility within selected processes with everything that entails, as well as participation in routine work (daily on-call, assessment of samples/investigations). You are also expected to contribute to the training of AT physicians (optional weeks) as well as internal training at the clinic. In the operation, three senior physicians and one ST physician work today, all with broad medical expertise and extensive experience in teaching and mentoring. You will become an important part of the team and have the opportunity to both broaden and deepen your competence. Since we are a relatively small physician group, there are good opportunities to influence work methods and the continued development of the operation. Work is scheduled during daytime on weekdays. About the Workplace We are part of a process-oriented organization responsible for all clinical chemical diagnostics throughout the entire region. We are in an expansive phase where we are implementing an expansion and modernization of methods and equipment as well as an integration of the entire operation. Development work in the laboratory takes place in a team together with the methodology responsible physician, process leader (BMA), and engineer. In research activities, we have collaboration and support from the Center for Clinical Research (CKF). The entire organization has over 200 employees and includes laboratory operations within the specialties of Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Pathology, and Transfusion Medicine. Laboratory Medicine Västmanland conducts operations at hospitals in Västerås, Sala, Köping, and Fagersta. The position is located in Västerås. Qualifications You who are applying have Swedish physician licensure issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare and a specialist certificate in clinical chemistry. You have good medical theoretical knowledge and an interest in clinical chemistry and laboratory medical diagnostics. You also have good knowledge of Swedish, corresponding to at least C1 level. We are looking for someone who is confident in your professional role, curious, and collaboration-oriented. You enjoy analytical work where you can take responsibility and take initiative, while maintaining close contact with clinical operations. You are interested in scientific developments within the field and want to help us develop laboratory medical diagnostics together. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
