About the Operation
Are you a specialist physician with an interest in emergency care?
Närakuten is a 24-hour operation with drop-in services that operates like other emergency departments with a triage/assessment team and a field team. We assess patients according to a standardized assessment system called RETTS. Patient flow has increased since opening, and today we receive approximately 60-80 patients per day, 120-160 ambulance transports per month, and between 80-90 admissions per month to the local care ward located at Ludvika Hospital.
During daytime, Monday through Sunday, two physicians are on duty simultaneously. Day shift 1: where we always have a broad specialist or senior ST, and day shift 2: where we have a permanent employed ST physician in emergency care, but training physicians from other specialties may also serve there. Day shift 1 primarily handles patients in a medical flow (internal medicine, infectious disease, cardiology, neurology; all ages). Day shift 2 primarily handles patients in a surgical flow (orthopedics, surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology; all ages). However, we usually work without strict divisions and distribute the broad patient flow among ourselves, naturally within the scope of our competence and experience.
After 5 PM, when the night shift begins, work is conducted without strict divisions, which means all patients are cared for in order of priority regardless of which flow they are registered in.
Job Duties
As an emergency physician/broad specialist, you will work clinically together with Närakuten's team, which consists of nurses, nursing assistants, and physicians. You will work closely with the first-line manager and others in the management group, and participate in physician meetings with other clinics. Typical duties of a physician at an emergency department; at Närakuten we have two physicians during daytime who handle a broad range of patients from children to multimorbid elderly and all specialties including pediatrics, internal medicine, infectious disease, orthopedics, surgery, and psychiatry.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Licensed physician with specialist competence in emergency care or another specialty that the employer deems equivalent
Experience working in emergency care or similar
