About the position The neonatal care at Karolinska University Hospital is Northern Europe's largest regional center. We provide highly specialized neonatal intensive care and neonatal care. We are responsible for the region's prematurity care for children born before 28 weeks of gestation, respiratory care for newborns and cooling treatment. We are a national resource in neonatal surgery, pediatric cardiology, pediatric nephrology, pediatric hepatology, metabolic diseases and neonatal neurology and neurosurgery. The Medical Unit of Neonatology consists of three sections located in Danderyd, Solna and Huddinge. We have close collaboration with the pediatric intensive care unit (BIVA), ECMO center and national care for fetal medicine. Our acute neonatal transport service (ANTS) has 24-hour readiness for neonatal intensive care transports as well as other neonatal transports within and outside the country. A large part of the care is basic neonatology. Our care philosophy is family-centered, development-supportive care and Karolinska NIDCAP Training and Research Center is located with us. We have modern neonatal units with the opportunity for co-care of mothers and children. We have strong and stimulating development within medical care and nursing as well as clinical and preclinical research. As a specialist physician with us, you will work in multidisciplinary teams with comprehensive patient care where the children's families are involved in the care. Your work will consist of unit work, work at outpatient clinics and postpartum wards as well as extensive on-call work. Teaching and mentoring of students as well as physicians and nurses in training are important parts of the work. Research and development are also integrated parts of the work. You are expected to be able to work at all three of our sections in Danderyd, Solna and Huddinge with one to two primary workplaces. Qualifications Requirements: Swedish medical license and specialist certification in pediatrics and neonatology Meritorious: Good academic qualifications, preferably with a doctoral degree or doctoral student status Experience within the field Previous work experience from a university hospital.
