Image and Functional Medicine (BFM) Västerbotten operates extensive services at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå, hospitals in Skellefteå and Lycksele, and at health centers in southern Lapland. The clinic employs just under 300 staff members and together we perform approximately 200,000 examinations per year.
BFM Västerbotten is responsible for radiological imaging examinations such as nuclear medicine, mammography, and advanced peripheral and neuroradiological intervention. We have modern equipment including several MR scanners, computed tomography equipment, and PET/CT systems. Both national and international research is conducted here in collaboration with Umeå University, as well as training of physicians and radiologic technologists.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a specialist or senior physician with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.
This role involves radiological management and assessment of radiological examinations, with emphasis on those relevant to interventional radiology. You are also expected to assist with and perform interventional procedures that occur at a university hospital.
You participate in the clinic's daily work, conduct rounds with colleagues from other departments, train resident physicians, and collaborate with other staff members in the clinic's quality and development work. On-call and standby duties are included. As a senior physician, you are expected to have medical knowledge and competence to be independently medically responsible for a specific area, share in overall responsibility for a specialty and the clinic's total operations. This could mean, for example, that you are expected to guide relevant staff members toward set goals. You are expected to have an academic approach to your specialty, contribute to the development of evidence-based care, and mentor both students and colleagues in all clinical situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
For this job, you need to be a licensed physician with specialist competence in radiology and have good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1. Broad experience with both vascular and non-vascular intervention is a requirement. Certification in interventional radiology through the Swedish Medical Association is an asset.
