Women's healthcare in Gävleborg is divided between two locations, Gävle and Hudiksvall. The delivery unit in Gävle handles approximately 1,500-2,000 deliveries per year along with obstetric outpatient services including ultrasound. Gynecology today is primarily outpatient-based services including abortion services, uro-/gynecology, fertility treatments, general gynecology, and gynecological oncology. Surgical operations take place in the central operating room, day surgery, and outpatient surgery. The postpartum/gynecology ward has 18 beds. Women's healthcare in Gävle employs 34 physicians, of whom twelve are resident physicians. We actively work to train our own specialists and have a steady flow of newly certified specialists.

DUTIES
As a specialist/chief physician, you will have varied and stimulating work. You collaborate with colleagues, adjacent units, and other stakeholders to create a good care chain. On-call and standby service is part of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with specialist/chief physician competence in gynecology and obstetrics. You are responsible, flexible, and have strong collaboration skills. You can handle varied tasks and have an interest in medical development work and patient safety issues. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
In the role of specialist/chief physician, you should have:
• Swedish medical license and specialist certification in obstetrics and gynecology, which we ask you to attach to your application
• good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale.
For this position, it is a merit if you have intermediate on-call and backup on-call competence.
