Skyddsvärnet – founded in 1910 – is a mission-driven organization working to prevent social exclusion through professional interventions that promote self-help and independence.
Sörgården care residence is part of Skyddsvärnet and offers safe, supportive housing for adults who want to live drug-free and build an independent everyday life. We are located in a nature-rich coastal environment in Sörmjöle – just 20 minutes from Umeå. We combine professional support with genuine community. We work with adult clients with substance abuse issues, mental health challenges, comorbidities, criminal history, or other socially destructive behaviors. Placements are made on behalf of the social services department.
Your Responsibilities
As a support worker with us, you work closely with residents in their daily lives. You provide support and motivation toward reduced substance use and help with contacts with authorities and voluntary organizations. You actively participate in shared activities such as cooking and cleaning, and you contribute to an environment where residents feel seen, safe, and empowered to move forward.
The work includes client conversations, contact with healthcare and authorities, urine testing, documentation, and planning of activities and occupational engagement. We work according to KASAM as our methodological foundation and place great emphasis on human dignity in all interactions.
Requirements
· You will drive Sörgården's vehicle when needed, so a manual B driver's license is required.
Merits
We are looking for someone with relevant education in the field, such as treatment assistant, treatment pedagogue, social worker, or other behavioral science background.
Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing)
Experience working with this client group in institutional care, outpatient services, or outreach programs

You are attentive but confident in yourself, and you have the ability to keep hope alive for people who are working to transform their lives.
Personal suitability is heavily weighted.
About the Position
We are seeking a support worker at 80% who will complement our work team. The position involves day shifts, on-call overnight shifts, and weekend work. Start date as soon as possible.
