About the Job Would you like to be part of shaping the future of social services? We are seeking social workers for a new unit launching after summer 2026, focused on preventing recruitment into criminal gangs and supporting young people already involved in criminal activity. The unit is part of a broader strengthening of our efforts to reverse negative trends among youth in vulnerable situations. As a social worker, you will work with government authority responsibilities and investigations supported by BBIC, in close collaboration with both internal and external partners. You will work with either younger children at risk of being drawn into crime or young people already involved who need help breaking patterns. The work uses structured assessment tools such as Savry and Earl, and you will have the opportunity to utilize the child or young person's own network as a resource. The work takes place in close collaboration with open community services, police, schools, and other partners, all working to prevent youth crime. Travel to visit placed children and young people may also be part of the role. In this position, you will receive support from a senior social worker and a team of colleagues. We offer comprehensive onboarding through our valued introduction program, where three staff members work full-time supporting new colleagues. You will receive external case supervision approximately once a month and methodology training every week with the senior social worker in a group setting, as well as regular individual case reviews with the senior social worker. About You We are seeking someone with a degree in social work and a few years of experience working with government authority responsibilities for children and young people. A Class B driver's license is required for this position. If you have also worked with youth involved in criminal justice, we consider this an asset for the role. You take responsibility for your work tasks and the team's work tasks. You think about those we serve and their wellbeing. You do your best to complete all work tasks correctly and follow up on the results. You have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the scope of your assignment without being dependent on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive work forward. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to translate these into concrete actions. With focus on the goal, you can reprioritize work when circumstances or needs change. You follow up and report results and goal achievement. You communicate information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You ensure your message gets across. You adapt your communication to the recipient, target audience, and situation. You can see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it impacts and is impacted by other parts of the organization. You collaborate with others on overarching issues to create value. You consider different information sources and perspectives and can adapt others' ideas to your own operations. You plan, organize, and prioritize work efficiently. You ensure work is completed on time and follow up on results. You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and suggest possible solutions.
