Job Responsibilities
As a social pedagogue, you would have a role focused on students with problematic school absenteeism, serving as a resource to implement supportive measures that we know are the right path to break isolation.
The social pedagogue will serve as a resource for conducting home visits, contacting parents, and developing plans for students. You may pick up and meet with students, find alternative ways to spend time together (walks, team meetings, etc.), and create sustainable schedules for these students.
Focus areas will include:
being a trusted adult at school and being available for students
being there for students with absenteeism issues
catching early warning signs
mapping out needs
reviewing future measures needed at the unit
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a social pedagogue, social worker, or has at minimum a 3-year behavioral science degree from higher education.
To be considered for the position, it is a requirement to have experience working in school operations or other experience that is deemed equivalent.
You are a calm and stable person who is comfortable in different settings. You are attentive, take responsibility, and are engaged. Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
Driver's license, category B, is a requirement.

For some positions, a certificate from the Police's suspicion and record register must be presented. We would like to see language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in a security class, so security vetting may be conducted. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
