a Social Worker for work with families and children
Requirements for Applicants
• Second-level professional higher or academic education in social work;
• Experience in social work with families and children;
• Good interpersonal skills and communication abilities with people;
• Good knowledge of Latvian and Russian;
• Knowledge of regulatory acts and ability to apply them;
• Good computer skills (MS Office) and knowledge of office management;
• Ability to independently organize your work and make decisions in complex situations;
• Ability to prepare written reports and response letters.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage social cases, identify client social problems, assess social situations, mobilize necessary resources to help clients (families) resolve difficulties;
• Inform and advise clients about their rights to social assistance and services;
• Organize and provide residents with necessary social services and social assistance;
• Cooperate with state and municipal institutions, organize and participate in inter-institutional and inter-professional team meetings;
• Prepare opinions and reports upon request;
• Work with the unified municipal social assistance administration electronic system (SOPA);
• Conduct home visits to clients;
• Perform preventive work to prevent social problems from arising, etc.

• In accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 262 of 26.04.2022, corresponding to position family VA level 43.1, salary group 9, compensation starting from EUR 1,350.00 per month before tax deductions. During the probation period, the monthly salary is set at 90% of the minimum monthly salary established for the position.
• Probation period: 3 months.
Work Location: Līvānu novada Social Services Department.
