Riga Social Service Riga Social Service announces a competition for candidates for the position of social worker with social cases (profession code 2635 01) Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality, which provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, and ensures assistant services in the municipality for Riga residents. The purpose of the position is to provide professional support to adults in resolving social problems. We will entrust you with: carrying out social work with adults who are unable to meet their needs or have found themselves in crisis situations. responding to threatening situations and promptly informing the responsible institutions according to their competence. evaluating the client's social situation and identifying problems. developing a social rehabilitation plan and conducting intervention. assessing the effectiveness of social case management and the appropriateness of provided services to the client's needs. within the scope of social work, visiting the client's place of residence, assessing living conditions, and providing consultations at the place of residence. reflecting the case management process and/or service provision in the client's file in accordance with regulatory requirements. informing and consulting the client about their rights and obligations, available social support and possibilities for its implementation, as well as the client's responsibilities for receiving social services. in the social case management process, using various social work theories and methods, and when necessary, within the scope of competence, representing the client's interests. preparing opinions and/or reports on cooperation with the client, preparing written responses to requests (submissions) in accordance with regulatory requirements. closing the client's file in accordance with requirements set out in internal regulatory acts. Decisions on closing the client's file must be justified and the client must be informed accordingly. using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work. We expect: education – first or second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work or students starting from the third year studying in the field of social work; good knowledge of Latvian; skills in navigating regulatory acts; excellent computer and office equipment skills; contact culture and skills in communicating with people; ability to independently make decisions in accordance with your competence.
