Riga Social Service Riga Social Service announces a competitive recruitment for a social worker position (work with adult individuals in the field of social care and social rehabilitation services) (profession code 2635 01) Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, as well as ensures assistant services to the municipality for residents of Riga. The purpose of the position is to provide assistance and professional support in addressing social problems for adult individuals. We will entrust you with: informing and consulting clients about their rights and opportunities, as well as the procedures for receiving social care and social rehabilitation services (hereinafter – social services) and social assistance; identifying and assessing the client's social situation and problems; assessing the client's self-care capabilities and needs, as well as the possibilities (resources) of the person or their family members to participate in providing social services to adult individuals and determining the necessity of social services for the client in the manner prescribed by regulatory acts; creating a client file, regularly documenting the social case management process in the file, and ensuring the necessary documentation for service provision; drafting administrative acts and other documents, organizing correspondence with clients, state and municipal institutions, as well as natural and legal persons; preparing an opinion on the social service fee, determining its validity in accordance with the valid client (client's family), supporter's means of subsistence declaration (hereinafter – ILD) period; establishing the duties of cooperation for the client, their supporter, and the municipality. Agreeing and providing the client and their supporter with understandable explanations and precise answers regarding their cooperation duties in receiving social services and payment for received services in the manner prescribed by regulatory acts; managing the course of social case resolution; using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work. We expect: first or second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work, or students from the second year onwards studying in the field of social work; State language proficiency at C1 level (highest level); ability to navigate regulatory acts; excellent computer and office equipment skills; contact culture, ability to interact with people; ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
