Riga Social Service Riga Social Service announces a competition for candidates for the position of Senior Social Worker in the field of social services (profession code 2635 01) Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, as well as ensures assistant services to residents of Riga. The aim of the position is to organize and methodologically guide uniform practice in the provision and receipt of social services by Riga City Municipality. We will entrust you with: ensuring uniform practice among Riga Social Service (hereinafter – the Service) employees in providing social services at the place of residence and/or in institutions; providing consultative support to Service employees on social services at the place of residence and/or in institutions, their provision and procedures; providing Service employees with current information on the compliance of data entered in the Social Assistance Administration Information System (hereinafter – SOPA) on specific clients with unified approach requirements; evaluating the compliance of negative administrative act drafts prepared by Service regional department employees with the purpose of social services and regulatory documents governing the provision of social services, and the compliance of data entered in SOPA on specific clients with unified approach requirements; coordinating municipal public work, including ensuring cooperation with public work service providers, organizing contract conclusion/termination and contract supervision, providing methodological guidance and support to Service regional department employees and clients involved in public work; cooperating and corresponding with state and municipal institutions regarding the return of Riga City residents to Latvia; preparing draft response letters to inquiries submitted to the department for information provision; where necessary, reviewing complaints regarding decisions made by Service regional departments on social services at the place of residence and/or in institutions; periodically verifying the compliance of data entered by Service employees in SOPA with requirements set out in regulatory acts; submitting data to the department head and preparing suggestions regarding employee issues, cases of unequal practice in providing social services at the place of residence and/or in institutions, and proposals. We expect: first cycle higher education (bachelor's degree) in social work or charitable social work; state language proficiency at C1 level (highest level); practical work experience in the field of social services; ability to navigate regulatory acts; excellent computer and office equipment skills; social competence and ability to communicate with people; ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
