Riga Social Service Riga Social Service announces a competition for candidates for the position of social worker (working with adults in the field of social care and social rehabilitation services) (profession code 2635 01) Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and provides social services, as well as ensures assistant services in the municipality for Riga residents. The purpose of the position is to provide assistance and professional support in resolving social problems for adults. We will entrust you with: informing and consulting clients about rights and opportunities, as well as the procedures for receiving social care and social rehabilitation services (hereinafter – social services) and social assistance; identifying and assessing the client's social situation and problems; assessing the client's self-care abilities and needs, as well as the possibilities (resources) of the person or their family members to cooperate in providing social services to adults and determining the necessity of social services to the client in accordance with the procedure established in regulatory acts; creating a client file, regularly documenting the social case management process in the file, and ensuring the necessary documentation for the provision of services; preparing drafts of administrative acts and other documents, organizing correspondence with clients, state and municipal institutions, as well as natural and legal persons; preparing an opinion on the social service fee, determining its validity, in accordance with the current income declaration (hereinafter – ILD) of the client (client's family) or guardian, within the period specified; establishing the obligations of the client, their guardian, and the municipality to cooperate. Agree and provide the client and their guardian with understandable explanations and precise answers regarding the client's and their guardian's obligations in receiving social services and paying for the received services in accordance with the procedure established in regulatory acts; managing the course of social case resolution; using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work. We expect: first or second cycle higher education in social work or charitable social work, or students starting from the second year studying in the field of social work; state language proficiency at C1 level (highest level); ability to navigate regulatory acts; excellent computer and office equipment skills; cultured interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with people; ability to make independent decisions, in accordance with your competence.
