At Astrid Lindgren's World, visitors step directly into the world of fairy tales and become part of it. Here children and their families meet, talk, and play with characters from Astrid Lindgren's books. During high season, our visitors experience stories from the beloved books performed in over 30 different productions every day. The park receives approximately half a million visitors each year, making us Sweden's largest outdoor theater and a fairy tale world that creates lifelong memories. Our mission is to bring Astrid Lindgren's authorship to life and work in her spirit based on the core value that all people have equal worth and are equally important. With us, everyone has a meaningful role in creating an authentic and genuine experience of Astrid Lindgren's World.
Will you join us?
As a tailor, you will work in our costume workshop with all costumes for all characters in Astrid Lindgren's World. You will be part of the costume unit team, which consists of tailors, cutters, and costume technicians. Here we work closely together and help each other – therefore we are looking for someone who is social and enjoys collaborating. We seek someone who easily sees solutions rather than problems, takes responsibility, and thrives in a workday with varied tasks.
The work consists primarily of new sewing, repairs, and maintenance. During the performance season, the costume unit handles washing, pressing, and maintenance of all costumes.
We seek someone with post-secondary education in tailoring and experience in theater/stage costume work. Knowledge in pattern construction, aging/distressing, leather work, and millinery is desirable.
