Description We warmly welcome you as our new school nurse at Björkåsskolan in the Sydväst 2 school district. Björkåsskolan serves approximately 300 students from preschool class through grade 6. The school is centrally located with proximity to outdoor areas and Frölunda torg and Gothenburg's city center with its rich cultural offerings. We are now recruiting a school nurse for Sydväst 2 with placement at Björkåsskolan. You will be part of a team with the school's student health team and collaborate with school nurses at our sister school, Flatåsskolan. Flatåsskolan, together with Björkåsskolan, forms the Sydväst 2 school district. Job Responsibilities As a school nurse at Björkåsskolan, you will be part of the school's student health team along with the school counselor, special educator, school psychologist, assistant principal, and principal. The team's mission is to work together with school staff, students, and guardians to create the best possible conditions for student safety, health, and learning. In this role, you will have close contact with school students and extensive collaboration with guardians, external healthcare providers, and authorities. As a school nurse within the Primary Education Department, you are part of the Medical Student Health Initiative (EMI). The work is primarily health-promoting and preventive, where you contribute your medical and nursing expertise to strengthen student health, development, and learning. Gothenburg City operates according to an established EMI base program that includes health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations. You will also be responsible for planning and organizing both your own and the school doctor's office work throughout the academic year. As a school nurse, you will also participate in a professional network with other school nurses within the education area, led by a medical director (MLA). You will be offered introductory training and access to a mentor during the introduction period. Furthermore, you will be offered profession-specific professional development and the opportunity for regular external supervision. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education in health and nursing care for children and youth, district nurse education, or further education with a focus on school nurse activities. It is an advantage if you have experience working as a school nurse or working with children and youth. All documentation within the Medical Student Health Initiative (EMI) takes place in the digital health record system PMO, so experience with PMO is also considered an advantage.
