Bäckahagens School is an F–9 school in Bandhagen with approximately 730 students. It also includes an adapted primary school for grades 7–9, a reception group for newly arrived students in grades 7–9, an RSU group, and an SU group in grades 7–9. When fully developed, our adapted school will offer space for approximately 30 students in grades F–9 from fall 2027. Our school has a strong focus on safety, knowledge, and confidence in the future, as well as a skilled and stable staff team with heart and commitment to the students. We work systematically with language development, inclusive teaching, and systematic quality work to strengthen goal achievement and upper secondary school eligibility. The school has been selected for "Municipal Collaboration for the Best School."
The school is being renovated and will be ready in 2027 with beautiful and adapted facilities.

Your role
Bäckahagens School is now seeking an engaged school psychologist.
As a school psychologist, you are an important part of the school's student health team together with the principal and other professionals. The student health team's main task is to work in a health-promoting and preventive manner to create a school environment that is good for students' learning, development, and health.
You provide psychological expertise as support in pedagogical work and in the overall planning of student health initiatives. At the principal's request, you conduct psychological assessments, diagnostics, and evaluations of students, groups, and the organization.
You contribute with:
knowledge of psychological difficulties, such as anxiety and depression
supportive conversations with students and consultative interventions with guardians and educators
psychological knowledge regarding protective and risk factors for students' health, learning, and development, for example through education on mental health and illness.
Beyond direct student contact, you are also responsible for supervising and providing consultation to school staff in matters where psychological expertise is necessary.
You assist with your expertise in conflict resolution and the school's crisis and disaster management, and provide guidance and support to school leadership in matters concerning organization, groups, resources, and handling of individual student matters.
Your expertise and experience
We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist with knowledge and experience working with children.
You have worked in school for several years.
You contribute structure, problem analysis, and a holistic perspective to salutogenic student health work.
It is a great advantage if you have good knowledge of the school's organization and governing documents, as well as knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
To succeed in the role of school psychologist, you:
have very good analytical ability, take own initiative, and apply an evidence-based and systematic approach.
can work independently as well as together with colleagues, students, and guardians
are relationship-building and trustworthy
have experience with assessments and supervision
have good insight into group processes and can handle crises and conflicts.
