About the School Your Responsibilities As a school counselor, you are responsible for providing students with psychosocial support through investigations, assessments, support conversations, and crisis interventions. The role also involves contributing psychosocial expertise to the student health team, coaching and providing consultative support to teaching staff, and conducting preventive and health-promoting work at both group and organizational levels. When needed, the school counselor collaborates with external actors, such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatry, and is responsible for reporting concerns. Assignments vary in length and scope. Your Profile For the position of school counselor, you need to have a degree in social work or equivalent higher education.
