Do you love books, reading, and inspiring curiosity in children? Then you might be our new school librarian!
At Hyllie Park Grundskola, we're looking for someone who wants to help foster a love of reading, joy in language, and curiosity in our students. You'll find us a close-knit school where everyone knows everyone, helps each other out, and enjoys a good laugh together. You'll become a natural part of our school community and contribute with warmth, ideas, and knowledge.
Our school library should be a place students want to visit—to find their next favorite book, get a great book recommendation, talk about what they've read, or discover something new. You'll have great freedom to put your own stamp on things here!
You'll inspire students through book talks, reading activities, thematic projects, and literary discussions. You make books visible, spark curiosity, and help students find the right book—including those who haven't yet discovered the joy of reading. The role may also include reading support for students who need extra help along the way.
Another important part of the role is helping our students become smart and critical information seekers. You'll also work with source criticism, information searching, and how to navigate today's large information flow.
You'll work closely with our teachers, after-school program, and student services to create the best conditions for every student. You're also responsible for developing the library, making book purchases, and running our library council.
In short, we're looking for someone who wants to make the school library a living, inspiring, and natural part of the school day—and who finds it just as rewarding to talk with students about books as to find the next book they absolutely must read.
