About the Workplace
Ersta Hospital is part of Ersta Diakoni and is Sweden's largest independent hospital with a clear value base – to see the whole person. With roots dating back to 1851, we have provided healthcare on Södermalm in Stockholm, but we serve patients from across the country. Here we offer high-quality, specialized healthcare with both breadth and cutting-edge expertise. We are a university healthcare unit and conduct research, education, and development in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet. We are growing to help more people, and since 2023, the hospital's capacity has tripled and eight new operations have been launched.
The Geriatric Clinic currently consists of three geriatric care units, a department for specialized rehabilitation, and a cognitive outpatient clinic. The specialized geriatric care at Ersta Hospital is characterized by a holistic view of the person that encompasses all aspects of life. The team consists of physicians, nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, and administrators with high expertise in geriatric care.
We are now planning to open a smaller care unit with eight beds. You will have the opportunity to be part of this from the beginning and contribute your expertise as we together shape work methods and build a new team.

About the Role
As a nurse with us, you have a central role in the geriatric team. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on patient care and contribute with your clinical judgment in the team's collaborative work.
The role combines patient-facing work with coordination and close collaboration with other professions. You will meet elderly patients with varying and often complex care needs and play an important role in creating security and continuity throughout the care journey.
Since the unit is new, you will have the opportunity to shape work methods and routines from the start. You will also receive support from a coordinator who facilitates the admission and discharge process, so you can spend more time on the patient and clinical work.
We are seeking nurses for both day/evening and night shifts. Full-time corresponds to 37 hours per week for two-shift work and 33.33 hours per week for night shift work. Please indicate in your application whether you are interested in day/evening or night shifts.

You are confident in your role as a nurse and in your clinical judgments. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and find it easy to prioritize when circumstances change.
You enjoy working closely with other professions and contribute to good collaboration through clear communication and sharing your knowledge. Because we are building up a new unit, we also believe you would enjoy contributing ideas and developing work methods together with others.
Your Experience
We are seeking someone who is a licensed nurse with several years of experience working in inpatient care. Experience in geriatric care is a merit.
