Medical Department 8 is an internal medicine inpatient ward at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Lund, and here we have the Clinical Education Unit (KUA) of the field of activity. We are planning an expansion of our unit and will be opening an additional team. We are now recruiting more nurses who want to be part of the journey toward a larger unit and more person-centered care. On the ward, we primarily care for multimorbid elderly patients who come from the emergency department and are examined and treated for, among other things, heart failure, respiratory failure, and various infections. Here, different professions complement each other with their expertise and high commitment, creating team spirit and quality in patient care. KUA is a significant part of the ward and constitutes one of our teams. KUA is led by a clinical educator, and here students learn through interprofessional education. Both as a new and experienced nurse, you have the opportunity to develop in mentorship and leadership together with your colleagues. - I enjoy meeting people, and here we see the whole person. We meet a broad range of patients with many different diagnoses, and here I can continue to develop through internal training and through new situations that arise. RESPONSIBILITIES We have a competent nursing team with varied experience in the nursing profession. Now we want to grow and welcome three nurses to our team. In your work as a nurse, you are responsible for basic and specialized care, you plan the patient's care, coordinate, and follow up. You work close to the patient in a team primarily with nursing assistants. The team also consists of physicians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We work based on the smart clinical choices approach and with person-centered care in focus. One of the responsibilities for nurses at Medical Department 8 is to mentor students from the nursing program who do their basic placements and KUA periods here. There are several ways to develop in your profession with us. As a newly graduated nurse, you are enrolled in Sus's clinical foundation year program with regular educational sessions that run over two years. We offer clinical competence development on the ward that takes place in weekly forums, in the form of lectures and practical training based on employees' wishes, and through working closely with our clinical specialist in your daily work. Lectures are held by, among others, our unit-responsible physicians and our clinical specialist, and theory is alternated with practical training. You are given the opportunity to receive training in mentorship in various forms, such as peer learning and reflective mentorship. We have wish-based scheduling, which gives you the opportunity to influence your schedule for the best balance between work and leisure. We plan your introduction to create a safe and educational start in your role with us. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have Swedish language skills equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Personal qualities that we value are that you are engaged in your work, interested in learning new things, service-oriented, and have good collaboration skills.
