We are now seeking new staff members for our nursing team. It is a stable nursing group with mixed experience, and we are looking for you who are interested in working on an adult psychiatric ward with the highest level of care. The focus is on developing patient-safe care and working in a team together with doctors, case managers/discharge coordinators, nurses, nursing assistants, and care workers. We place great emphasis on developmental work for both patients and staff. The goal is to maintain a good work environment, high patient safety, and patient satisfaction. There are opportunities for personal development in psychiatry based on competence and interest. Ward 3 is an adult psychiatric ward with ten care beds, four of which are acute care beds for patients with high care needs. Six beds are general psychiatric beds. The patient population includes patients with both somatic and psychiatric issues. Common diagnoses include bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and crises. We collaborate with other wards and outpatient services. We are in the process of starting Safewards on the ward. Responsibilities As a nurse on Ward 3, you are responsible for psychiatric and somatic care. Your responsibilities include daily patient work and standard nursing tasks, such as contact with relatives, supportive conversations, and motivational conversations. You participate in rounds with doctors and discharge coordinators. You handle medication management and documentation in Cosmic, conduct suicide risk assessments, and evaluate both psychiatric and somatic conditions. Together with the unit manager and colleagues, you have the opportunity to develop, implement, and create routines for patient and team work with the entire team. Qualifications You are a psychiatric nurse or general nurse with a genuine interest in psychiatry and an interest in the whole person. You have good self-awareness and feel secure as a person. You enjoy developing yourself and working together in a team and have a strong patient focus. You enjoy working closely with patients. You should also be receptive and flexible. You should also be able to lead the team and be pedagogical in your approach to support your colleagues and students. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you can go through the introductory year for nurses and will have a mentor/supervisor to support you during your introduction. The introduction is tailored to you based on your needs. Experience in psychiatry is an asset but not decisive. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
