The Role of Nurse/Ostomy Specialist
At the surgical clinic/endoscopy clinic, we examine and treat patients in upper/lower gastroenterology, general surgery, abdominal and chest plastic surgery, and endocrinology. You will work with both inpatients and outpatient visits. At the ostomy clinic, you'll work alongside a colleague, and you'll also assist at the surgical clinic.
Beyond clinical work, our ostomy services also conduct:
• Patient and family education
• Staff training and development
• Continuous improvement and development work

Your Future Workplace
The surgical clinic/endoscopy unit is a clinic at Värnamo Hospital. Here, nurses, nursing assistants, care administrators, and physicians work in close collaboration. At our surgical clinic, we perform minor surgical procedures such as removal of skin lesions, biopsies, and smears. At the ostomy clinic, we have outpatient visits before and after surgery, as well as good collaboration with our two surgical wards where our patients receive inpatient care. The clinic is also responsible for endoscopic activities, which means collaboration with both the surgical and medical clinics.
The Surgical Clinic in Region Jönköping has been a region-spanning clinic since 2017, with operations at three locations: Eksjö, Jönköping, and Värnamo. At all three locations, there is an emergency department and acute surgical care is provided 24/7, including surgery and intensive care.

Your Profile
We're seeking you as a licensed nurse with a few years of experience. If you have ostomy specialist training, we view that as a plus but not a requirement—you'll have the opportunity to pursue this training if you don't have it.
We place great value on a positive attitude, good collaboration skills, and an empathetic approach with the patient at the center. We also see that you can work independently, make your own assessments, are organized, and can adapt to changed circumstances. Great weight will be given to personal suitability.
