REGION VÄSTMANLAND · Vollzeit
Västerås, Schweden
Great team spirit and collaboration, knowledge and commitment, laughter and community - these are some of our employees' descriptions of what makes our fantastic workplace stand out. We are now looking for you to work with a rehabilitative approach with patients of working age. Working with this patient group allows you as a nurse to develop, as the patient's medical condition is often complex. With us, you will become part of a multidisciplinary team that works together to provide our patients with the best possible care and quality of life. Job Responsibilities As a nurse at the Rehabilitation Medicine Department, you are responsible for and lead nursing care for patients in need of inpatient rehabilitation. You perform standard nursing tasks in inpatient care and work from a clear rehabilitative approach. The work is based on the patient's individual needs and abilities, where responsiveness, structure, and the ability to adapt nursing interventions are central. You have independent responsibility in your daily work and collaborate closely with other professionals to ensure safe, cohesive, and patient-safe care. About the Workplace The Rehabilitation Medicine Department admits patients aged 18–65 years for inpatient rehabilitation following, for example, stroke, multi-trauma, spinal cord injuries, or prolonged and complex care. Patients are referred from other acute care departments at the hospital. Here we work in multidisciplinary teams consisting of nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and social workers. The workplace is characterized by commitment to patients, a rehabilitative approach, and a strong focus on patient safety and work environment. To support this, we use tools such as team debriefs at the end of each shift, which form the basis for our joint improvement work. For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, so we offer you: - An adapted onboarding program so you feel confident and secure in your professional role - Opportunities for professional development through, for example, internal training - A workplace for different stages of life, with the possibility of flexible working hours within certain limits - Free training at our fully equipped gym - Health and wellness allowance of 3,000 kr/year For more information about your benefits, visit: https://regionvastmanland.se/jobba-med-oss/dina-formaner/ Curious? Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse or is in the final stages of your nursing education, preferably with professional experience. If you have previous experience working in rehabilitation or neurology, that is a merit. Since the role requires you to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, family members, and colleagues, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required. As a person, you are confident, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since work in various ways can change quickly, you need to be flexible and have the ability to maintain your calm and focus in new situations. You have a good ability to structure your own work and take responsibility for your tasks. We work in teams and see collaboration and clarity as very important ingredients for success. Since we work closely with both patients and family members, empathy is an important part of your daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
