About the Operation

The Post-Operative Unit at Falun Hospital is part of the Central Surgery and OR/AN/IVA Clinic, together with the ICU, day surgery, anesthesia reception, and sterilization center. Approximately 360 employees work across the entire clinic, with 140 in central surgery and 23 in post-op. We perform between 6,000-7,000 surgical procedures per year from all clinics.
Job Responsibilities
Our post-operative unit currently has 15 beds for monitoring and care of patients after surgery and anesthesia. Here you will meet people with different needs and get to use both your clinical expertise and your calm, professional approach.
You will monitor breathing, circulation, level of consciousness, and identify early signs of any post-operative complications. This is work where you get to use your clinical eye, nursing expertise, and ability to prioritize, while working closely with an engaged team.
We operate around the clock, but there will be no night shifts before you have worked here for a while and completed the post-operative training we offer.
For us, patient safety is always the highest priority. We work in a structured manner and together to provide every patient with safe and secure care during the post-operative period.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a licensed registered nurse
- Is thorough and has a clear focus on patient safety
- Can work independently but enjoys teamwork and close collaboration with others
- Is flexible and can remain calm even when the pace is high
- Contributes to a good working environment
Merits include:
- Previous experience with post-operative monitoring and care
- Further education in intensive care or anesthesia
