Are you a nurse interested in primarily working in outpatient care? One of our colleagues is retiring, and we are looking for a replacement.
The Hematology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital provides highly specialized care in hematology and has a strong research focus. We treat and evaluate all types of hematological diseases, including malignant disorders as well as non-malignant conditions requiring more advanced treatment or investigation.
Our Offer
We place great emphasis on offering our employees stimulating, meaningful, and varied work tasks with a focus on the patient's perspective and excellent opportunities for professional development.
Initially, the focus will be on your personal development. You will be offered a structured introduction as well as a long-term individual development plan. A mentor is offered to all new employees. During the introduction, you will receive training in safe medication and chemotherapy handling, theoretical study days, and observation rotations in other departments of the clinic.
Long-term, we offer career development programs within the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics, and Cancer Care (CKOC) with the opportunity to specialize in one of our core areas. We encourage you to complete the contact nurse training during your first years if you haven't already done so. If you wish to pursue further studies to become a specialist nurse, we work to give you the opportunity based on your qualifications and previous experience.
Please read our career ladder for nurses and information about our benefits.
Job Description
We work according to a model where each patient has a responsible physician (PAL) and is planned to receive a contact nurse (KSSK). Treatments are planned in consultation between the patient, PAL, and KSSK. During ongoing treatment, the patient also meets treatment nurses and duty outpatient/day care physicians. Our nurses have combined roles as contact and treatment nurses, and we also have an operations function. Some rotation to inpatient care occurs (approximately 10-15%), primarily over weekends; otherwise, working hours are daytime at the outpatient clinic/day care.
The clinic has very close collaboration with our inpatient ward, research unit, and cell therapy unit (CEL), as well as with physicians, nursing assistants, and paramedics at the clinic (pharmacist, dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker), as our patients' journey during their illness often requires both outpatient and inpatient care.
