The Health and Medical Care Administration's psychiatry operations area consists of psychiatric inpatient care, adult psychiatric outpatient care, addiction treatment, and child and adolescent psychiatry. The operations area has approximately 130 employees in total.
The operations area's mission is to provide psychiatric specialist care to adults and mental health care to all children and young people up to and including 17 years of age.
Psychiatric specialist care is provided at clinics and/or in the home and, when needed, in inpatient facilities. The operations area should offer a broad range of both expertise and services, which is a challenge as the catchment area is relatively small both in terms of geography and population. The vision is a shared person-centered value foundation that is expressed in both patient encounters and in interactions between employees and management.
Your Responsibilities
As a nurse in the mobile crisis team, you will work closely with and at the direction of inpatient care, outpatient care, and psychiatric emergency clinic. This is to quickly meet patients with more acute psychiatric issues to prevent or follow up on admissions and to broadly work with first-time psychosis onset.
You will work with assessments, follow-ups, and advice for patients and family members via home visits, clinic visits, and telephone contact. Part of your position will involve staffing our emergency clinic, which means you will work both in acute situations and in more planned patient visits.
Who Are You?
You are a licensed nurse. Specialist education in psychiatry is a merit, and previous experience working in psychiatry is a requirement.
We are looking for someone who is confident in your professional role and who can work independently, while at the same time valuing teamwork. You have a respectful and empathetic approach and find it easy to build trusting relationships even in situations where the patient is in an acute or difficult life situation.
You are a person with personal maturity and integrity who stands firm even when the work is challenging. You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently, and are confident in making your own decisions. At the same time, you are flexible and can adapt when circumstances change.
In encounters with patients and loved ones, you are attentive, empathetic, and relationship-building. You communicate clearly and respectfully and see the value of good collaboration both within the team and with other actors around the patient.
The work requires good judgment, decision-making ability, and a holistic perspective. You can see both the acute situation and the patient's needs from a longer-term perspective. You are confident in prioritizing and making decisions, while also having the ability to pause, reflect, and reconsider when the situation requires it.
You are organized and solution-oriented and find it easy to analyze complex situations. You dare to think creatively and find new ways when conventional solutions are not enough. You have good problem-solving skills and use your clinical knowledge and experience to make well-founded assessments.
