Here you will combine advanced cardiac care with technically focused intervention work in a highly specialized environment. The Medical Clinic is one of the region's largest clinics with both outpatient and inpatient care within internal medicine and several specialties. In Unit 1, we work within the cardiac section where outpatient care, inpatient care, and day care are brought together to create efficient and safe patient flows. The PCI program is now being established, and you can be part of this development. We now offer a unique opportunity for you if you are curious about PCI operations and want to combine technically advanced work with ward work. You will work 40% on the cardiac ward (Ward 1/HIA/MIMA), but there is an opportunity to combine this with another clinic at the hospital with rotating shifts, which means day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. You will combine this with working 60% at the PCI lab, which initially will involve daytime work Monday to Friday. However, the position is fundamentally a rotating shift role. To ensure you gain the right competency within the PCI lab, you will initially perform at least 50% of your practical service in another region for training purposes, as the PCI lab is not yet operational in Växjö. This gives you the opportunity to build specialist knowledge and be part of the start when operations are established locally. You are also expected to complete a higher education course (7.5 hp) in PCI operations going forward. DUTIES Duties at PCI lab: • Prepare and set up for procedures • Sterile field setup • Assist the angiographer • Document procedures and quality assure workflow • Staff pre- and post-op on the cardiac section's elective ward. Duties at HIA/MIMA: • Advanced cardiac monitoring • Interpretation of ST analysis • Management of ambulance ECG • Electrical cardioversion • Administration of vasopressors • Participation in cardiac arrest team The PCI lab operations will start in fall 2027, and until then you will: • Perform 50% practical service in another region through August 2027 to be introduced to a PCI lab • Complete a higher education course (7.5 hp) in PCI (the course does not need to be completed by the lab's start in fall 2027) • Receive mentoring in intervention technique and cardiac monitoring during 2026 and 2027 before start • Receive mentoring in intervention technique and cardiac monitoring during 2026 and 2027 before start QUALIFICATIONS - Licensed registered nurse with several years of practical experience. - Experience in cardiac, acute care, anesthesia, or PCI operations is advantageous. - Confident in your role with strong collaboration skills. - Flexible, engaged, and development-oriented. - You are expected to be able to work in lead aprons daily.
