We provide surgical care following colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, urology, vascular surgery, and ear, nose, and throat procedures. Surgical Ward 15 has 24 beds staffed by dedicated nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, and other important healthcare professionals who work together as a team around patients. We also have nurses with specialist functions. We have also started a collaboration with Professor Anna Forsberg, sometimes called the queen of nursing care. Together with her, we develop structures to create safe care relationships with continuity, daily systematic assessment and analysis of the patient's health and situation according to head to toe principles (all patients should be examined by a nurse with caring hands during each shift), and to strengthen nurses in their leadership roles. On the unit, you work with a digital patient record accessed via a personal tablet that you carry with you during your shift. With the tablet, you have an excellent overview of your patients, their information and condition, medication lists, and the work tasks you and your colleagues need to complete. Our employees are our most important resource, and we ensure that you have a developing, secure, and sustainable work life. We use a clear introduction program for welcoming newly hired nurses, which ensures you get a safe and good start to your career regardless of previous experience level.
