Make a difference. Every day. The Cardiac and Pulmonary Medicine (HLM) Clinical Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) consists of four sections: heart failure and valve disease, arrhythmia, coronary artery disease, and pulmonary and allergy care. We provide highly specialized cardiac and pulmonary care at both our Lund and Malmö locations. The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (HIA) is Sweden's largest center for treating acute cardiac disease and we deliver high-tech care. We offer opportunities for continuing education, professional development, and research for individual staff members. Our unit is characterized by employee-driven development where every team member plays a vital role in achieving our goal: Sweden's leading cardiac intensive care and interventional unit. We work process-oriented in groups to develop patient care, always collaborating with physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, social workers, and medical secretaries as equal team members. Many of our staff have extensive experience in cardiac intensive care, and with their solid expertise, we are ready to welcome both experienced and newly graduated colleagues. After working with us, you'll be equally comfortable receiving a patient directly from an ambulance stretcher during an active heart attack as you will performing meticulous specialized care for a highly unstable heart failure patient awaiting transplantation. 3 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We welcome nurses to HIA and are looking for someone who thrives and wants to work in a team caring for critically ill cardiac patients. In your role as a nurse with us, you'll have significant opportunities to develop professionally and deepen your knowledge and expertise in Sweden's most advanced cardiac care. You will provide care for our cardiac patients. The care we deliver is high-tech, including mechanical left ventricular assist devices with impeller pumps, aortic balloon pumps, and continuous advanced hemodynamic monitoring. As a new team member, you'll receive thorough theoretical and practical training to ensure you feel confident and comfortable in our unit. The theoretical component includes lectures as well as our training program, which our HIA staff have been heavily involved in developing. Scheduled training days are included. There are also excellent opportunities for continuing education through conferences, professional associations, and more. The position also includes, following training, work at the Cardiac Catheterization and Intervention Clinic where we evaluate and treat patients with coronary artery disease. You'll begin by managing patient care and then learn about the imaging equipment and materials. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to begin assisting with interventional procedures. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you if you are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have Swedish language skills at minimum corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe framework. Prior experience in cardiac care is a merit for the position. As a person, we value openness, attentiveness, and strong collaboration with colleagues, as well as contributing to a positive work environment.
