We are now seeking a new colleague for our gynecology care unit in Halmstad. About the Work Here you will have the opportunity to work with varied tasks within both inpatient and day care. The work tasks include, among others: Inpatient Care • Perform care and nursing of patients within gynecology • Oversee pre- and postoperative care for patients undergoing gynecological operations • Provide postoperative care with focus on patient recovery • Handle acute admissions and provide emergency care when needed • Care for cancer patients and provide palliative care In addition to our regular operations, we also receive patients from other departments when we have available care beds. This is an important part of our effort to relieve the hospital during shortages of care beds in other clinics. This provides greater variety in the patient population and opportunities to develop in caring for patients with different care needs. Day Care • Perform blood transfusions • Care for and support patients undergoing early abortion or treatment after miscarriage • Care for patients undergoing pleuracentesis, paracentesis and other relevant medical procedures Working hours are scheduled during day, evening and weekends. The position includes working two out of five weekends. Staffing During daytime, 5 inpatient beds and 3 day care beds are staffed with 2 registered nurses and 1 nursing assistant. During evenings, weekends and nights, 5 inpatient beds are staffed with 1 registered nurse and 1 nursing assistant. Given this staffing level during evenings, nights and weekends, it requires that you are confident in your role as a registered nurse. We have good collaboration and strong support from the staff at the maternity ward. About the Workplace Department 10 Gynecology is a care unit for patients with gynecological illnesses and conditions as well as gynecological cancer diagnoses. On the department's "other wing" is our maternity ward and maternity clinic staffed by midwives and nursing assistants. Collaboration between the maternity ward and our department is a given. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed registered nurse with a genuine interest in gynecology. Experience in gynecological care is a merit. As a person, you are confident, stable and responsible. You enjoy working in a team while having the ability to independently plan and structure your work. With an empathetic and professional approach, you treat patients, next of kin and colleagues with respect. We see that you are thorough, flexible and adapt easily to varying tasks and situations. You have good communication skills and can handle medical procedures in a professional and safe manner. To ensure good and safe communication with patients, colleagues and other contacts, strong knowledge of Swedish is required, both spoken and written.
