Nurse for Gynecological Care Unit
REGION ÖSTERGÖTLAND · Vollzeit
Universitetssjukhuset, Linköping, Schweden
Do you have a passion for women's health care? At our gynecological care unit in Linköping, we place great value on high quality and appropriate care. Our Offer Forward for Life. Region Östergötland has ambitious goals and important responsibilities. It's about health and care, about our region's development and about the people who live and stay here. We want to continue to be at the forefront, with care, research and education. That means daring to think new – and having the best employees. Therefore, we offer unique opportunities for continued learning and invest in modern environments with efficient systems and tools. Many of us meet patients and their loved ones, while others create the conditions for vital services. Working with us are fantastic people working toward the same goal – to make a real difference, and forward for life. This is to meet the need for gynecological care for our hospitalized patients, our on-call service that operates around the clock, and abortion care. We have high nurse staffing levels to meet this need. In practice, this means you will never work alone as a nurse, there is always an experienced colleague available when you're new, and you won't work nights in the beginning. We encourage you to read our career ladder for nurses and about your benefits with us, where you'll also find information about regulations regarding salary and compensation. Job Description On the unit, we work in pair care, which is close and important collaboration between a nurse and nursing assistant. Each care team consists of five to seven patients whom we care for together with the patient's well-being in focus. As a nurse, you are responsible for ensuring our patients receive appropriate care in every situation. Collaboration with various professionals is important, and as a nurse you have a leading role in daily work. Daily tasks for the care team include basic and specialized care, medication administration, NEWS checks, ward rounds, dressing changes, nutrition, patient admission and discharge, mobilization, and preparation for treatment, among other things. In the evenings, on weekends and at night we have an on-call reception on the unit. At the on-call reception we receive, prepare and assist with examinations and care related to sexual violence. During the day there is an experienced nurse on site as a coordinator in addition to the care team. After a period when you're settled in, you will begin working as an on-call nurse, work nights, and as a coordinator, at which point you'll receive additional orientation. As a nurse with us, you need to be responsible and curious, with aptitude for good communication and collaboration. Work Team Our work team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, specialist nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, social worker, surgery planner, operations developer, research nurse and contact nurses. We have experienced nurses as coordinators and on-call nurses to ensure the availability of experienced staff on site 24/7 and to meet the medical needs of our patients. We actively work with work environment, development and well-being. Every Monday we have training, reflection with the social worker and chaplain or APT in the afternoon. About You We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, midwife or specialist nurse in surgery. Previous experience working in hospital care is meriting but not required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Your personal qualities are important for you to thrive and fit in with us. For this position we are looking for someone who is flexible. Flexibility with us means being able to adapt to the prevailing situation and shift focus, which is crucial since unforeseen events occur daily. We work closely together and need good communication to succeed in solving the tasks we encounter in daily work. Therefore, the position suits you if you enjoy collaboration and are attentive and communicative with both colleagues, patients and family members. Application and Employment We are looking for employees for both permanent positions and temporary assignments. Start date by agreement. We use continuous selection, so please send in your application as soon as possible. For questions regarding this position, contact Agnes Arvidsson, see contact details below. Before employment in patient-facing work at Region Östergötland, you will be asked to complete a health declaration. We warmly welcome your application!
