The Oncology Clinic is now hiring a registered nurse for nursing unit 80. This is a position for you if you find it meaningful to work from a holistic perspective in patient-centered care. Duties As a registered nurse on nursing unit 80, you make a difference and create value every day for both patients and families. Here we care for patients with varying care needs at different stages depending on where they are in their cancer journey. You will have diverse responsibilities spanning from acute oncology to palliative care. On unit 80, we work in teams divided by care intensity, which means the number of patients you as a registered nurse are responsible for can vary. On our unit, care and treatments are tailored to each individual. In addition to medical interventions, we do everything we can to contribute with what makes a difference during the care period. We take time, are present, listen and talk with both patients and families. The team you'll work with is a cheerful group consisting of different professional categories with many years of experience. About the Workplace The Oncology Clinic is a regional clinic with operations in Västerås. In addition to the inpatient unit, the clinic consists of a modern radiotherapy department, medical physics, rehabilitation unit, outpatient clinic, day care unit for medical cancer treatments, and a PICC line clinic. The units work closely together and you have the opportunity to visit the different units to gain an understanding of the whole picture. Care at the Oncology Clinic is based on seeing the whole person and taking into account physical, psychological, social, and existential factors, which means close contact with both patients and families. We see that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing and preferably knowledge of other languages. As a person, you are secure and stable. You care for patients in difficult situations and therefore easily put yourself in others' perspectives without taking on their emotions. When stressful situations arise, you remain calm and composed. You are helpful and accommodating in your approach and have a good ability to adapt to new circumstances and pace changes that come up in the work. Furthermore, you have a good ability to structure your work and can work both independently and in collaboration with others. Terms of Employment This is a permanent position on day/evening shift schedule, plus weekends, with the possibility of rotating to nights if interested. Start date by mutual agreement.
