About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more staff members. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, detention facilities, and inmate transport. Job Description The prison and detention facility are co-located three km outside Ystad city center. VO (operational area) Ystad currently consists of a prison with capacity for 65 women and a detention facility for men with 52 places. The focus is on release preparation initiatives where individual plans form the foundation of our client-centered work. The detention facility is a so-called restrictive detention facility. It houses individuals suspected of crimes while awaiting investigation. Currently, we have approximately 250 staff members distributed across several professional groups and competencies. The entire workplace is characterized by high security awareness. A high level of security is necessary for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service to meet the requirement to protect society, provide good care, and influence our inmates toward a life without crime. In addition to nurses, the centers also have general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you have both your own clinic for assessment of minor ailments, and you also assess which visitors should see a doctor. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for inmates, assist at doctor's clinics, and administer medications, primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in PMO patient electronic health records. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You are quality-conscious and thorough, and have the ability to structure your approach independently and drive your processes forward.
