Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for research and innovation to deliver results.
Region Västerbotten's primary care provides comprehensive primary care services throughout the entire region and meets patients of all ages, both in urban and rural areas. With 33 health centers and health stations, we are where you are. We actively work with research and development and utilize medical findings to offer high-quality care where the patient is involved. We want our employees to be involved, have influence, and take pride in working in the region's primary care. Here you have the opportunity for an assignment where you can combine an interesting and developing work life with a rich range of outdoor activities, summer as well as winter.
The health stations are part of the near care district of southern Lapland, which is a model area in the transition to local care. With effective collaboration and a focus on citizens, we drive important change initiatives in the region and together with the municipality. Clinical assessment at a distance and digital care meetings are developing rapidly and are an important part of ensuring good, local, and accessible care in this area. Therefore, it is no coincidence that we are at the forefront in this area. The health station model, which is an important starting point for local care, characterizes both the approach and working methods in the operation's daily routine. Storuman, Sorsele, and Tärnaby health stations are part of the same base unit and are located in southern Lapland, 13 miles from each other, Sorsele and Storuman 7 miles apart. The nearest hospital is Lycksele, and the region's ambulance helicopter is stationed there.
Our health stations function as well-equipped mini-hospitals with access to acute care beds, ambulance services, and a laboratory. Our telemedicine use is well developed. Here you will find occupational therapists, midwives, physiotherapists, social workers, doctors, psychologists, secretaries, nurses, and nursing assistants. We provide acute care as well as regular health center work and have well-developed collaboration between all professional groups and with the municipalities.
