The Neurosurgical Department and Neurointensive Care Unit (NIVA) is part of the Neuro-, Head and Neck Center (NHHC) at Norrlands University Hospital. Here we care for patients with diseases and injuries to the nervous system, brain, and ear, nose and throat areas. We are now seeking nurses for our team at Neurosurgery/NIVA. As a new employee with us, you will become part of a competent and dedicated work team with strong cohesion and a pleasant atmosphere. You will receive structured orientation including both onboarding and internal training to help you feel confident in your role. We also offer the opportunity to participate in a mentorship program. JOB DUTIES As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure. Working as a nurse in neurosurgery/NIVA is qualified and independent work where no two days are alike. The work includes identifying risks, assessing, monitoring, intervening, and evaluating patients' various care needs. You work closely with patients both independently and as part of a team with colleagues and other professions. As a nurse, you participate in caring for patients from both surgical and medical specialties with failure of vital parameters due to major operations, accidents, or serious medical conditions. Supervision of students and colleagues is part of the role as we are a university hospital with educational responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking you as a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you have experience working as a nurse. We are an acute care department with high patient flow and thus a varying pace. We would appreciate if you enjoy teamwork and eventful days. Neurosurgery/NIVA operates at two care levels, the ward level as well as care in NIVA. As a new team member, you will begin your first months working on the ward to then receive training for post-operative patients and patients cared for in NIVA. We are looking for someone who is confident in their work role, can work independently, and can make your own decisions. You are communicative and work well in a team where you enjoy sharing your knowledge. You contribute positively to the work environment. We welcome your application!
