Together we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of being Europe's leading university hospital by 2032. Working alongside patients, we strive for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation—within an integrated healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals are directed toward the highest quality of care, where the patient is always in focus. We offer healthcare locally and regionally, as well as highly specialized care to patients throughout Sweden and abroad. Our employees are our strength and they contribute to knowledge exchanges nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify daily operations at the hospital and provide modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality. About Us Departments 16 and 29 are a highly specialized unit focused on endocrinology, gastroenterology, and diabetes. We provide highly specialized inpatient care and meet patients with complex care needs, including acute or chronic liver disease, newly diagnosed diabetes, and patients who have undergone pituitary tumor surgery. The department also provides national highly specialized care in, among other areas, liver transplantation, which means many of our patients are evaluated before, or cared for while awaiting, liver transplantation. With us you will work with highly specialized care that is only provided at two centers in Sweden, one of which is our department. We are proud of this. We also have a day care unit where patients come for planned treatments and evaluations within endocrinology. With us you become part of an engaged and welcoming work team with both experienced and newer nurses. We have a relaxed atmosphere, take care of each other, and believe it's important to have fun together at work, even when the work is challenging. Collaboration is a natural part of our daily routine and doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and care assistants work closely together, learn from each other, and together contribute to developing care. We place great emphasis on education, skills development, and creating favorable conditions for our employees to grow in their professional roles. Here you will have the opportunity to develop within several exciting specialist areas while also being able to influence the department's continued development. Patients come to us through our own clinics, emergency departments, other hospitals, or are called in from home. This makes the work varied, educational, and meaningful. About the Job As a nurse on the night shift in departments 16 and 29, you work in a team together with nursing assistants and are responsible for patient care during the night. You plan, prioritize, and follow up on care measures based on patients' needs and contribute to safety, continuity, and patient safety during the night. You never work alone as a nurse; you always have nurse colleagues on site, even at night. Collaboration between nurses, nursing assistants, and other professionals is an important part of the work and creates both security and opportunities for learning in everyday work. Although the work takes place at night, it is both stimulating and developmental. Our patients often have complex medical conditions and require advanced medical and nursing expertise. This gives you the opportunity to work independently, use your clinical eye, and at the same time continue to develop as a nurse within our specialist areas. With us you get varied and meaningful night work where teamwork, responsibility, and learning are important parts of everyday life. About You We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and who have previous experience in hospital care or experience within our specialties. Most important to us is that you have a commitment to our patient groups, enjoy collaborating, and want to be an active part of the team. As a person, you are confident, responsible, and contribute to an open and positive work environment. We appreciate if you are organized, creative, and resourceful, and we would like to see that you enjoy thinking in new ways and coming up with ideas that can develop both working methods and the care environment. We are primarily looking for nurses for night shift work, but if you are also interested in working daytime, we are open to finding solutions together that enable work both day and night. With us we value new perspectives, good collaboration skills, and the desire to develop together. We warmly welcome your application!
