The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is a specialist psychiatric clinic with over 400 employees. We have 2 general psychiatric inpatient wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.
We are now seeking a nurse for the addiction psychiatry clinic, which is part of the psychiatric clinic at Umeå University Hospital. We consist of two operations: the Clinic for medication-assisted rehabilitation and treatment for opioid dependence (Laro) and the dual diagnosis clinic (DDM). This position is for a nurse at DDM.
DDM serves patients with moderate to severe substance/alcohol use disorder according to DSM-5 as well as psychiatric comorbidity requiring specialized psychiatric care. We work in teams using the case management model, with teams consisting of physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nurses. Both Laro and DDM have access to occupational and physical therapists as needed. DDM collaborates extensively with other community actors and agencies such as the Social Services, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and the Prison and Probation Service, among others.
Region Västerbotten provides basic/introductory training in substance abuse/addiction and Motivational Interviewing.

DUTIES
As a nurse with us, you contribute to providing excellent care for others and helping people feel better.
As a nurse, you work both independently and as part of the team or with physicians at the clinic. Three days a week, the day begins with a morning meeting where the team plans patient care and treatment. As a nurse, you perform medical assessments, administer medications, conduct specimen collection when needed, perform medication monitoring, participate in medical consultations for medication initiation, etc. You conduct motivational interviews, health conversations, follow-ups and psychoeducation, participate in structured implementation protocol (SIP) meetings and collaboration meetings as needed, and conduct referral assessments. Other duties include rounds, managing prescription renewals via 1177.se and TeleQ (telephone system).
QUALIFICATIONS
For this position, you must be a licensed nurse with an interest in psychiatry. Experience with specialist training in psychiatry and experience working with substance abuse issues as well as experience conducting Motivational Interviewing is preferred but not required.
You are a present and warm person who, with expert knowledge and care, views the patient holistically, making the care process better and safer. You enjoy collaboration and are flexible.
