Job Description
SiS Youth Institution Stigby on Visingsö is seeking treatment assistants for hourly temporary work.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people toward new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you help ensure that the routines on the unit function as they should. You play a significant role in stability and safety for our young people and clients, and form the foundation of daily life including schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You contribute to maintaining safety at the institution in accordance with our procedures. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our young people and clients receive the security and safety they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of committed colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied.
Working hours are according to schedule: days, evenings, and weekends.
As a temporary hourly employee at SiS, you will undergo customized introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You must have:
At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education must be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example in psychiatry or LSS care
Class B driver's license
Good Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious:
Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, for example as a Correctional Officer
Experience working with our target group (youth care)
Your personal suitability is the key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a well-founded positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and an ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to work with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues.
