As Shift Manager for Education at Kolmården Zoo, you'll have a varied role where you lead daily operations, develop our staff, and contribute to creating world-class experiences. About the Role As Shift Manager within Education, you play a central role in daily operations. During the park's open season, you lead and support our seasonal staff and ensure that operations are well-organized, properly staffed, and deliver high-quality service and experiences. You work close to the operations and participate in the day-to-day work yourself. An important part of the role is also booking and sales, where you actively work with conferences, schools, and industry-specific professional groups. During the low season, October–March, the focus shifts toward booking, sales, planning, operational development, conferences, and recruitment. You are responsible for: Leading daily operations during open park in line with budget and sales targets. Active sales and booking for conferences, schools, and industry-specific professional groups. Planning and allocation of resources, including staffing, materials, and scheduling for high and low seasons. Working together with animal operations to create favorable conditions for educational activities and keeping yourself updated on the park's animals and operations. Managing bookings within the business area and maintaining contact with hotels and our activity bookings. Planning tours and other activities and ensuring efficient operations during open park. Introduction, training, and coaching of new and existing seasonal staff. Promoting a safe, inclusive, and sustainable work environment. Working in accordance with Parks and Resorts policies, guidelines, and sustainability efforts. About You We're looking for someone who thrives in a varied role where leadership, service, and business acumen go hand in hand. You enjoy being close to daily operations and naturally switch between leading others, solving practical challenges, and meeting guests and customers. To succeed in this role, we believe you are structured and solution-oriented while having an easy way of creating engagement and good collaboration around you. We're looking for someone who has: High school education and at least two years of experience in operational leadership, preferably within service, attractions, or entertainment industries. Documented experience in booking, sales, and guest service as well as experience with staffing planning and scheduling. Manual transmission driver's license (Category B) Good digital skills and experience with booking, operations, or staffing systems. Experience with VisBook or similar is a merit. Good financial understanding and ability to work toward goals and key metrics and develop and improve working methods. Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. A present and coaching leadership style where you create engagement, safety, and trust in the team. A structured, solution-oriented, and flexible working approach and the ability to prioritize when circumstances change rapidly. Clear guest and results focus and a willingness to contribute to both strong experiences and good sales results. Post-secondary education in, for example, leadership, service management, or tourism is a merit. It is also a merit if you have experience or education in animal care, animal husbandry, or biology. Practical Information About the Position The position is a permanent employment at 80% and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is immediate and the position is based at Kolmården Zoo. We work under a collective agreement (Gröna Arbetsgivare – Unionen).
