Senior Heavy Equipment Operator Pipeline & Hydrogen Infrastructure

We are looking for an experienced Senior Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team on major pipeline and hydrogen infrastructure projects in Sweden. The position involves the safe and efficient operation of specialised heavy construction and pipeline equipment, including sidebooms, cranes and other heavy machinery used in pipeline construction, lifting, pipe handling and associated civil works. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary pipeline construction team and will be responsible for operating equipment safely and accurately in demanding construction environments. Key responsibilities · Operate sidebooms and other specialised pipeline construction equipment. · Operate cranes and heavy lifting equipment where appropriately qualified. · Position, lift, move and handle large-diameter pipeline components and associated materials. · Support pipeline stringing, lowering-in, lifting and other construction activities. · Carry out daily equipment inspections and basic operator-level maintenance. · Work in accordance with site safety procedures, lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments. · Coordinate closely with supervisors, lifting teams, welders, pipe crews and other construction personnel. · Maintain a high standard of operational safety and equipment care. · Work on infrastructure projects in accordance with Swedish and project-specific HSE requirements. · Assist with mobilisation, demobilisation and relocation of heavy equipment between project locations. Requirements · Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience, operating heavy construction and/or pipeline equipment. · Demonstrable experience operating sidebooms and heavy lifting equipment. · Experience from pipeline, energy, infrastructure, civil engineering or comparable major construction projects. · Strong understanding of safe equipment operation and site HSE requirements. · Ability to work independently while cooperating effectively with a multidisciplinary construction team. · Relevant operator licences, certificates or documented competence for the machinery operated. · Willingness to work on project sites and travel within Sweden as required. · Good working knowledge of English. Desirable experience with: · Hydrogen or natural-gas pipeline construction · Large-diameter pipelines · Sideboom operations · Crawler cranes or heavy mobile cranes · Pipe handling and lifting operations · Heavy construction equipment · Major infrastructure or energy projects Personal qualities · We are looking for a safety-conscious, reliable and technically experienced operator who takes responsibility for machinery, colleagues and the quality of the work. · The successful candidate must be comfortable working in demanding outdoor construction environments and following strict safety and operational procedures.
