Älvsborgs Amfibieregemente (Amf4) is seeking a range officer based in Uddevalla, Sågebackens shooting range. Main responsibilities The Garrison Unit (GarnE) at Amf4 is primarily a support unit for other units and commands within Göteborg garrison. As Section Chief/Range Officer, you will lead one of two sections within the Training and Shooting Range Department (ÖSA) based in Göteborg. You will primarily work in Uddevalla and Skredsvik, where your main role is range officer, but you should also be prepared to support the department's other ranges. The overall mission is to provide unit exercises at shooting ranges, training areas, and facilities with the best and safest training conditions possible. Your main responsibilities are to oversee operations and all related tasks at Amf4's land-based training and shooting ranges. The position requires a high degree of independence and strong interpersonal skills. The role also includes responsibility for ensuring that operations within your organization and on the shooting range comply with applicable legislation and Swedish Armed Forces regulations. You should be solution-oriented and interested in range development, as Amf4 operations in the Uddevalla area are planned to expand in coming years. You will frequently interact with units from various parts of the Swedish Armed Forces as well as other agencies such as Police and Rescue Services. You have personnel responsibility for section staff and oversee craftspeople working on the section's shooting ranges and fields. You should be prepared to participate in and support unit exercises while keeping unit needs in focus. Documentation, development of governing documents, administration of booking systems, and monitoring of environmental permits are natural parts of the job. Section Uddevalla includes: Sågebackens training and shooting range Skredsvik training area/shooting range Bulids training field Amf4's other ranges: Bråts training field Göteborgs archipelago shooting range Sisjön shooting range Säve training field Käringberget Qualifications Accredited specialist officer degree, OR 6 Class B driver's license Meet Swedish Armed Forces physical requirements (pass within 6 months) Merits Class C, BE, CE driver's licenses Computer skills - Office suite Operator certifications (e.g., all-terrain vehicle, wheel loader, Ltgb, L-vehicle, etc.) Trained ammunition disposal supervisor Ability to establish risk zones for common weapons including: ehv, ksp, grg, grk, grenade launcher, and explosives work Completed FUSA/SUSA or experience as a shooting range instructor Completed GEO-SE training, maps Completed overseas service Personal qualities We are looking for someone who is dedicated, thorough, and organized.
